Meeting Information:

 

The 15th Asia/Oceania Region Intergovernmental Meeting presents a positive opportunity for all parties to learn more about the challenges in our region and the roles & responsibilities with respective to Anti-Doping in Sport under the 2015 Code and the Convention .

The meeting also consider that athletes across the Asian region are preparing for the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta-Palembang, Indonesia in August this year, we need to ensure that all anti-doping stakeholders work together to implement effective programs to protect the rights of clean athletes.

Organizing Committee

Local Organizing committee members will be wearing a uniform (grey trouser and white shirt). Delegates are kindly requested to wear their identification badges at all times during meetings.

Accommodation:

The host country covers accommodation costs for ministers ,deputy ministers and guest speakers. Accommodation expenses includes room charge and breakfast only.

Information about the delegates (name, surname, position) whose accommodation will be covered by the host country, are kindly asked to email to sladasl@yahoo.com no later than May 25, 2018.

All expenses incurred other than the above-mentioned accommodation would be assumed by respective delegations. Delegations wishing to change or upgrade their accommodations provided by the Government of Sri Lanka will have to cover costs emanating from any room change or upgrade.

A direct booking cannot be made online. The Organizer
will make a Group Booking on behalf of all attendees. 

Languages

The formal meeting procedures will be conducted in English.Simultaneous interpretation will be provided in Japanese during the proceeding of formal meetings.

The official Documents of the Meeting will be issued in English.

Media

A Media Centre will be available at the conference hall.

Currency and ATMS

National currency of Sri Lanka is Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR).

All retailers and service providers accept only national currency.

 

Major foreign currencies can be converted to/from LKR in any banks around the city. International credit cards are accepted for transactions and retrieving cash.

ATMs are available in all shopping malls, banks, hotels etc. Please be advised that cash withdrawals from international credit/debit cards can charge you additional service fee.

Local Transportation

Heads of Delegation and delegates participating at the Ministerial meeting will be provided a vehicle for transfer from the airport to the hotel upon arrival and departure.

Medical facilities

Delegates will be provided with first aid services at the conference place during their hotel stay. First aid facility will be provided by the Institute of Sports Medicine(Ministry of Sports). It is highly recommended for delegates to have travel insurance with medical support for period of their stay in Colombo.
